Tummy Tuck Newcastle
A flat well-toned stomach is a goal we all aim for however exercise and weight control may not always be as successful as we think. Individuals can still develop a stomach that is loose, sagging, protruding and overhangs despite being having a normal body weight. Dr. Kim can provide the solution to your problems in the Newcastle and surrounding areas.
Common causes include:
- Pregnancy.
- Previous surgery.
- Fluctuations in weight.
- A sign of ageing.
- Heredity.
Benefits of a Tummy tuck:
- The restoration of weakened or separated muscles – results in a smoother and flatter profile.
- The removal of excess skin and fat.
- Can have an impact on your self confidence and self-esteem.
There are two main Abdominoplasty procedures; mini and full. Liposuction can be used alongside a Tummy tuck to attain the best results. The operation will be conducted under general anaesthetic and will take around three hours, however the length will be determined by the extent of the surgery. The type of surgery to achieve the best results will be discussed prior to the procedure.
Mini Abdominoplasty
An incision will be made across the lower abdomen (bikini line). The skin is then separated from the abdominal wall and excess skin and fat will be removed below the belly button. The skin that remains will be stitched together.
Full Abdominoplasty
An incision will be made across the lower abdomen (bikini line). A second incision is then made to free the belly button from tissue and the skin. The stomach muscles are tightened if required and a new hole is cut for the belly button. The remaining skin is brought together with stitches.
You may be required to stay in the clinic for at two to three nights and your wound will be reviewed after seven days. You will also be required to wear a supporting corset for four weeks to maintain your new abdominal contour.
